Hi! I’m Katie.
I’m an educator and writer working at the intersection of media, technology, storytelling and design.
I have an MFA in Integrated Design from the University of Baltimore. I teach as part of the Communication faculty at Loyola University Maryland, and I have experience teaching digital media and communication, journalism, and design. Recently, I’ve started working with the University of Baltimore’s Second Chance College Program teaching a communication course one semester a year at Jessup Correctional Institution, a maximum-security prison for men in Maryland.
I also design for print and web, and I approach each project as a storyteller first. I like to write whenever I can find the time, especially about how media and technology shape the world we live in. I’m currently working on a podcast about shame and the Church.
I’m passionate about the power of stories and helping others find the tools to tell their own.
